Lana Bode – Multi-Award Winning Classical & Contemporary Pianist
American born British pianist and musical director, Lana Bode is a multi-award winning classical and contemporary music pianist as well as a leading specialist in Adult Piano Lessons.
Lana has performed widely in prestigious venues including Wigmore Hall, Barbican Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Sage Gateshead, Byre Theatre (StAnza Festival), Clothworker’s Centenary Concert Hall (Leeds), Holywell Music Room (Oxford Lieder Festival), Britten Studio (Snape Maltings) and Canterbury Cathedral. She was an accompaniment fellow at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance from 2014-16, and is now a staff accompanist at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama alongside being a piano coach at the London Contemporary School of Piano.
Prior to working with us at the London Contemporary School of Piano, Lana ran her own successful studio in Bloomsbury for adult piano students from many walks of life resulting in her unrivalled experience in adult piano education, she has also been asked to teach at a number of other leading London music schools. Lana’s vast experience in adult piano education innovations put her strongly in demand as one of London’s leading adult piano specialists, for all levels and walks of life.
Lana has many music industry accolades, she was the first winner of the Viola Tunnard Young Artist award. Other prizes include the Oxford Lieder Young Artist programme (finalist), YCAT (semi-finalist) and the Paul Hamburger Prize for Song Accompaniment. Lana is a Samling Artist, a Leverhulme Artist and an alumnus of the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme.
Lana is particularly interested in cross-arts collaboration and is also a producer of contemporary music concerts throughout the UK as a solo artist and a collaborator. Her highly-acclaimed recital at Guildhall school of music, featured rare and challenging modern composers such as George Crumb, Henry Cowell and Joseph Schwantner. Lana is the co-founder and Artistic Director of the concert series Virginia Woolf & Music, through which she has commissioned a number of new works and premiered music by Jeremy Thurlow and Jan-Willem van Herpen.
