Caolan McCarthy

Grammy-nominated pianist, vocalist, musical director, actor, and multi-instrumentalist. Caolan is a true artistic chameleon with additional roots in education and philosophy. Such a rare multidisciplinary background paves the way for students to make extraordinary discoveries and successes in their classes under Caolan’s direction and coaching.  In a very short amount of time, Caolan has become one of the most sought-after piano coaches in London, often with a waiting list.

Caolan has been performing and playing the piano since he was just 7 years old. Over the course of his career, he has led and toured with bands across the globe and more recently, recorded the Original London Cast recording of Amelie, The Musical. Alongside his Grammy-nominated success in “Amelie”, Caolan has acted in major international films such as “Belfast” and theatre productions including “Once” at the Queen’s Theatre and “The Plough and the Stars” at the National Theatre.

Caolan is a dedicated teacher with a lifelong experience in musical pedagogy, and philosophy and has taught an array of musicians, actors, adult amateurs, and music hobbyists from many countries across the world. Since joining the London Contemporary School of Piano coaching team, Caolan has become one of our most in-demand teachers, with a waiting list and very limited availability, due to his ability to solve musical challenges and build exciting lesson plans where students discover and build huge improvements to their musical journeys.
