MANU HASAN

Learning is one of life’s greatest joys and for Manu, this is one of his deepest fascinations. In his adult life, Manu has been driven to share his expertise and passion with pupils of all levels and backgrounds. Under Manu’s expertise, you are under the rare guidance and mentorship of a master teacher and musician.

Bursary awardee at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Holder of an Associate Diploma in Music Theory from Trinity College London (AMusTCL). Songwriting graduate from The Academy of Contemporary Music. Son of a specialist educator. Long-term pupil of a professor of classical piano teaching method.

Having been mentored by the likes of Professor Michael Young, Scott McGill, Nikki Iles, and Henry Lowther, Manu has dedicated most of his life to bettering his understanding of the learning process.

Jazz, Classical and Contemporary styles.
Technique, theory, composition, improvisation, and general musicianship. Beginners, intermediate, advanced, and professional musicians. Short and long-term mentoring. Remote and in-person tutoring.

Aiming to equip all students with long-term applicable skills, Manu practices a facilitative teaching style that nurtures self-efficacy. Expect to learn how to answer your own questions along the way.

Manu has won prizes at the EPTA UK and Valetta International piano competitions, given performances of Grieg’s Piano Concerto and Chopin’s 2nd Piano Concerto, and appeared on stages such as St. John Smith Square, Steinway Halls, Hereford Cathedral, and St Martin in the Fields.

He has performed with numerous artists and outfits including Jayana, Jazz De Sousa, Red Paper Cranes, Curtis Lee, Meg Wassell, Renee Soul, Marches Military Wives Choir, and The Royal Marine Concert Band. He is also the founder, composer, and pianist of Hasan Trio.
