London Contemporary School of Piano – Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to programmes, courses, coaching and lessons provided by the London Contemporary School of Piano (LCSP).
Your Coaching and Teaching Team
When you enrol on an LCSP programme, your agreement is with London Contemporary School of Piano (LCSP) for the provision of the programme, coaching and associated teaching services.
While we may introduce you to, or initially allocate you to, a particular teacher or coach, your enrolment is not a contract for the personal services of that individual. Our coaches deliver their work as part of the wider LCSP teaching team and within the educational approach, standards and framework developed by LCSP.
LCSP coaches are selected through our own rigorous and detailed recruitment and assessment process. We place considerable importance on finding teachers who meet the particular musical, educational, interpersonal and professional standards required to coach within LCSP. Accordingly, for the purposes of an LCSP programme, the relevant qualification is that a coach has been selected, approved and appointed by LCSP as suitable to deliver our teaching and coaching.
From time to time, LCSP may need to change the coach assigned to you, for example because of availability, changes within our teaching team, scheduling requirements or other reasonable operational or educational considerations. Where this happens, we will always aim to make the transition as smooth as possible and will appoint another LCSP-approved coach who has successfully met our recruitment and assessment standards.
The appointment of a particular named coach should therefore not be regarded as a guaranteed or permanent element of the programme. The service being purchased and delivered is the LCSP programme and coaching service, supported by LCSP’s teaching methodology, standards and team, rather than the personal services of any particular individual coach.
Lesson Cancellations and Rescheduling
We understand that plans sometimes change.
If you need to cancel or reschedule an individual coaching session or lesson, we require a minimum of 120 hours’ notice.
Lessons cancelled or rescheduled with less than 120 hours’ notice may be treated as having been used, except where LCSP agrees otherwise in the circumstances.
Where appropriate, an in-studio lesson may also be moved to an online setting if a change of circumstances makes attending in person difficult.
If LCSP needs to cancel or rearrange a lesson, we will offer an alternative arrangement without any loss of lesson entitlement.
Course Cancellations, Refunds and Transfers
When you enrol on an LCSP course or programme, we reserve teaching time, programme capacity and resources for you.
LCSP offers a 30-day guarantee. During the first 30 days following enrolment, if you or LCSP reasonably conclude that the programme is not the right fit, your participation may be brought to an end and any applicable refund will be processed in accordance with this guarantee.
After the 30-day period, course fees are generally non-refundable if you subsequently decide not to continue, subject always to your statutory rights.
However, we want our students to receive genuine value from their enrolment. Where appropriate, LCSP may allow the value of your course to be transferred to another suitable LCSP course, programme or arrangement. We do not charge an administration fee for an agreed course transfer.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits or excludes any cancellation, refund or other rights you may have under applicable UK consumer law.
Respectful Conduct
We ask all members of the LCSP community to treat fellow students, teachers, coaches and members of our administration team with courtesy and respect.
We are proud of the professional and supportive environment created by our students, coaches and staff, and we expect everyone participating in LCSP programmes to contribute positively to that environment.
