Virtual Piano Lessons : How Do They Work?

For a decade we’ve been one of the music industries experts in the field of online piano lessons.
I introduced piano courses via video conferencing software, e.g Zoom, and Skype back in 2010 so that our rare style of piano coaching could be delivered to students across the world and in the comfort of their own home.

10 years on we have students from 25 different countries across the world and a host of students across the UK.
Check out some of our testimonials on Google:
This is Bruce from Texas
“As an older mid-level piano student from the Live Music Capital of the World, Austin, Texas, having a piano coach from the London Contemporary School of Piano via Skype or FaceTime has been like having my coach/instructor/mentor right next door.
Insightful guidance has taken my interest and ability from lukewarm to HOT for which I am extremely grateful to Tom Donald and his team. Alberto Ferro has introduced me to concepts that have broadened my scope and understanding and have increased my desire to learn more”.
This is Lisa from Melbourne :
“This is a world-class piano school. I live in Melbourne and it’s fabulous to be able to have online lessons with amazing coaches in London.
I wanted to improve my piano playing skills and Tom and Siwan have helped me to do this. I haven’t just met my goals, I’ve exceeded them in a short space of time. My technique has improved immensely and I’ve acquired new skills such as improvisation and playing from lead sheets.
The team is so friendly and encouraging and it’s a pleasure to work with them”.
This is Shivank from Mumbai, India
He came over to London last year to record his first album after working with us online for 3 years.
This first album has had over 3 million hits on YouTube
What you must know
is that virtual lessons work very differently to studio classes. That’s why you can’t just switch from studio lessons to virtual lessons without giving it much thought. There is a different work flow and you need a team of experts and a school that has a tangible system in place to deliver online lessons that actually work. This is a field that is sadly filled with many amateurs and the blind leading the blind!!
Worse still the internet is a cowboy-zone of online lessons that fail to deliver any outcomes. Laziness is no substitute to turning up to a real studio location. Sadly this motivation has led to a very low quality market of mediocre online piano lessons available over the web!
Having said that people are more and more interested in virtual lessons for a variety of reasons. Often because they are very convenient for time sensitive people. Having a slice of our thriving London studio in your own home is just too much temptation for busy people, so they prefer to take their lessons from home!
It’s very important to know that virtual lessons may not be the best option for you. That is why we will always give you a truthful assessment first. Besides, our student intake for online lessons is limited at the moment due to it’s increased popularity, so we have limited enrolments for our online courses.
